About Me
This is our main character taking a leisurely walk. It doesn't know how its world works, or do any work to maintain the elaborate systems about it - in fact, in its normal state, it doesn't even have any arms or hands to use to interfere with things. It simply exists, happily, in its environment.
I want my main character, representing the consciousness, to be cute, nonthreatening, and relatable. Unlike some of the models of internal worlds I looked at, such as "Inside Out" or short scenes from "Spongebob Squarepants", I don't want this character to be a direct representation of the external character, nor do I want its personality to be directly tied to some sort of a role it plays. Rather, I want its personality to come solely from the environment and how it interacts with it.
It's important to me that when I design my internal brain world Rube Goldberg machine I include geometric elements in the forest. The geometric forms come into play because though we don't fully understand them yet, our brains do work in logical consistent ways, which I associate with the motif of order and geometry.
On the other hand, there's also an element of organic, beautiful chaos in the forest I want to design. This is touching on the other side of the coin with the order and the geometry: though there is order, we still don't understand all of it and there is still a level of unpredictability. I think that aspect of our thinking is more wild and beautiful, and visually I'd associate it with less orderly, more curving, organic shapes.
